Getting Started with Citizen Canine

Register

Welcome to Citizen Canine! We are so glad you found us, and we look forward to meeting you and your dog!

We ask all new clients to complete a complimentary pre-boarding interview, which is conducted at our facility with a staff trainer. We use this time to learn about your dog’s social, behavioral and medical history, to explain our services, to answer your questions, and to give you a complete tour of the facility. If your dog has never boarded before, or has a history of separation anxiety, we may require a trial overnight in advance of a long stay.*

We only have capacity for a small number of dogs, so we recommend scheduling an interview and reservation well in advance of a planned trip. We are happy to schedule an interview even if you have no immediate need for day care or boarding!

To get started please complete the following steps:

  1. Complete our online registration form. Once we receive your form, we will contact you to schedule an interview and confirm any reservation requestions.
    Register [Online Form]
  2. You may also call us at (510) 562-1750 and we will take your information over the phone.
  3. In advance of the pre-boarding interview, you may wish to download and read some of the material that will be reviewed with you during your appointment:
Download information and policies [2 page PDF]
    Download boarding agreement [PDF]
  4. Please bring your dog’s current vaccination records to your interview. You can also ask your veterinarian to fax your dog’s vaccination records to us at (510) 562-0132. Many dogs have two guardians with different last names. Please make sure the owner name on your vet records matches the owner name on our new client info form.

* Please be aware that occasionally, our staff trainer determines through the interview process, or after a trial stay, that a dog is not compatible with our facility. We do not charge an interview fee, however we ask that all reservations and interview appointments be held with a Visa or Mastercard, and that you call to cancel or reschedule any interview appointment you can’t make.
