Overnight Boarding
- We cater to your dog’s needs with a daily schedule of ample exercise, interaction, potty walks, relaxation and feeding.
- All dog rooms are private, indoor, climate-controlled spaces with raised beds and noise-minimizing walls.
- Every dog enjoys at least two extended play groups daily in our 6000 sq. ft. of play yards, equipped with toys, K9Grass, and a kiddie pool!
- Your pup will get a relaxing nap time between activities for stress reduction and healthy development.
- Play groups are tailored according to size, age, and temperament for a stress-free, enriching social experience.
- Families of dogs can stay in the same room for a more familiar routine!
Day Care
- Our high staff-to-dog ratios mean your dog will enjoy fun and safe playtime in small groups of 8-10 other matched playmates.
- We are happy to feed your dog’s regular food or our high quality house food (Taste of the Wild or Chicken Soup for the Dog Lover’s Soul) at no extra cost! Bring a favorite chew bone or toy too!

Providing over 90 minutes of exercise and exploring around the hills of the East Bay! Our custom Adventure Waggin’ van will transport your dog in a secure individual crate, while the climate control system keeps the fresh air flowing for a relaxing ride.
Training
- We employ only dog-friendly, positive-reinforcement training methods as promoted by the SF SPCA Dog Training Academy and Sirius Puppy Training school founder, Dr. Ian Dunbar.
- We take the time to get to know each dog before their stay at Citizen Canine so that we can take cues from their personality to motivate improvements in behavior.
- Professional dog trainers coach our staff on the subtleties of canine body language and handling techniques.
- Individual training sessions are available as an additional activity while your dog is staying at Citizen Canine.
- We are glad to provide extra nurturing for sensitive dogs or extra mental stimulation for energetic dogs.
- Select up to 2 additional sessions per day from these customized 15 minute sessions:
- Love Supreme: For dogs who can’t get enough human affection, including treats, belly rubs, snuggling and games all on our comfy couch or in our sunny park.
- T-Touch (Tellington-Touch Massage): A relaxation therapy for the nervous or first time boarder. Senior pets find it helpful in soothing arthritic joints as well.
- Extra Playtime: In addition to the regular play groups, an extra play session is a great treat for fetch-aholics. For those social butterflies that have more energy to burn, an additional play group with new canine pals can’t be beat.
- Training New Skills: We can also work to support your training goals or introduce new skills. These sessions are intended to reinforce, not to replace, the training work you and your dog do together.
- Basic Obedience: Sit, Down, Stay, Recall, Loosh Leash Walking
- Tricks: Spin/Twirl, Play Dead, Take a Bow, Shake, Roll Over
- Advanced Tricks: Leave It, Wave Hello, Body Part Targeting
- Intro to Agility: Weave Pole, Bar Jump, Hoop Jump, Tunnel, Pause Box
- 6am-7am: Morning Potty Walks
- 7am-9am: Breakfast and Check-Ins/Outs
- 9am-1pm: Morning Play Group:
- 9am-1pm: Adventure Hikes:
- 1pm-5pm: Afternoon Play Group
- 6pm-8pm: Dinner
- 8pm-9pm: Evening Potty Walks
- 9pm-6am: We have an overnight staff member on duty to make sure everyone is safe and sound.
