Foundation Focus

Citizen Canine Foundation Focus

The Citizen Canine Foundation Focus  is a targeted, short-term training program designed to address specific behaviors in dogs with prior training or foundational skills. Through structured, twice daily sessions and guided enrichment, the program delivers measurable improvements while providing clients with the tools needed to maintain progress at home.

Ideal for dogs who:

  • Have completed prior training but still need improvement in specific behaviors
  • Are inconsistent, especially without treats
  • Require a structured refresher on foundational skills
  • Have high working drive and a need for a task

The program focuses on reinforcing positive behaviors, introducing new skills, or improving reliability in previously learned cues.

Program Structure & Delivery

The course is delivered over one week (Monday - Friday) (with a two week, 10 day option available) with a consistent and structured daily schedule:

  • Two daily training sessions (15 minutes each), focused on the targeted skill
  • Socialization activities, tailored to each dog’s needs (dependent on their socialization level):
    • Two 30-minute playgroups or
    • Three 15-minute enrichment outings

This balanced approach ensures both skill development and appropriate mental/physical stimulation, adjusted based on each dog’s socialization level.

At the completion of the program, clients receive:

  • A customized practice sheet outlining how to reinforce the trained skill at home
  • An end of course progress report
  • Actionable tips and techniques
