Top 3 Places to Take Your Dog in San Francisco

Living in a city that has more dogs than it does children, the impassioned dog owners of San Francisco are always looking for somewhere to take their pooch. With 28 off-leash parks, dog-friendly beaches and even restaurants that allow canines to dine along with their human parents, SF has a wide selection of places that provide fun for dog and owner alike. Here are our top 3 spots for you to take your pooch for some family bonding in The Golden Gate City.

Bernal Heights Dog Park

A scenic 35 acres of lush turf await you and your furry friend at Burnel Heights Dog Park on Bernel Heights Blvd. Visitors can take in panoramic views of the city while their dog frolics through the spacious trails and takes in the fresh air. Waste bags are usually available at the entrance, however since the park is a popular spot for residents and non-residents alike, supplies can dwindle quickly, so its a good idea to bring your own as backup.

Crissy Field

The beach area of the dog park Crissy Field allows pups to scamper through the sand and take a dip in the Pacific Ocean all with the magnificent Golden Gate Bridge across the horizon. The beach is clean and well-maintained, providing water fountain for dogs to stay hydrated as well as a washing station to give them a rinse before porting them back home.

Park Chow

A day at the park is bound to leave an empty stomach, so head on over to Park Chow at 1240 9th Ave. for some classic American eats with a unique twist like chicken-apple sausage or a burger on a baguette with one of their organic sauces. Your pup is welcome to tag along and sit with you at one of the outside patio tables with heat lamps to keep them cozy on chilly days. They staff is also happy to bring out a bowl of water for your pup to sip free of charge.
